I recently had to spend an evening cleaning my wife’s computers of spyware and adware. This is not one of my favorite things to do, but windows is so susceptible to these types of programs. It’s one of the main reasons I don’t do windows.
One of the programs I found was Gator. Now, I’m told that they think that Gator is OK, as it is only adware. But I beg to differ. One problem is that the programs tracks what you do and where you go on the net. Sorry, but as far as I’m concerned that information is private, and I don’t like anything that tracks the info. I call it spyware, nothing more, nothing less. To top things off, I guess that they don’t like the moniker that has been attached. The company “Gator” has changed their name to Claria. Same stuff, same problems. At least for those folks that use Windows.
You see, windows is probably the most insecure Operating system on the planet. Don’t be fooled by their ads about how they have improved things. Believe me folks. It hasn’t happened. The windows computers that I work with at home, are horrible. Both have all the latest updates yet get infected with the latest and greatest spyware/adware regularly. It’s not that I don’t try, but once a week now I run the spyware removal proram along with the virus removal program. I have to. Otherwise the system slows down, and I have to listen to complaints. and that’s no fun..
So for all those adware/spyware companies that happen to find this page. This is my opinion. I wrote it, and I believe it. You guys can just plain kiss my backside. I’ll do everything possible to get rid of anything that resembles adware.
